Urge your country to ratify the UN Child Soldiers Treaty
The United Nations ratified a treaty ten years ago that banned the use of children under the age of eighteen in forced recruitments. Check out Kintera.org to get involved in helping to re-ratify the treaty to ban the recruitment of child soldiers around the world.

If you are a college student you can join the invisible children group at your school or start one if it is not available (www.invisiblechildren.com )
Contact your local senators and representatives
Urge them to take a stand against the recruitment of child soldiers. These children do not have a voice; they need YOU to talk for them, to raise awareness, to end the abuse, violence and mistreatment these young children face.

Schedule a meeting with your with your local elected officials. Tell them that the U.S. must lead to help end the crisis in Darfur and work towards peace for all Sudan.
Join STAND
If you are a student or otherwise connected to a college/university or high school, start a STAND chapter. Students Taking Action Now: Darfur. Even if you are unable to start a chapter, sign up on the website (http://www.standnow.org/) for STAND news, advocacy talking points, and more.
